Application
4-HPR: A Retinoid Analog with Antitumor Activities
all-trans-N-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-retinamide (4-HPR) is a synthetic retinoid analog that not only inhibits the proliferation of cancer cells but also can induces apoptosis in certain cancer cells. Recent studies have shown that 4-HPR has additional properties including the prevention of high-fat diet-induced obesity and insulin resistance. The mechanism of action of 4-HPR is still not fully understood.
