Monoammonium Glycyrrhizinate: An Ammonium Salt of a Triterpenoid Saponin Glycyrrhizin

Monoammonium glycyrrhizinate is an ammonium salt of glycyrrhizin [G0150] which is the major triterpenoid saponin of licorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra). It has been widely used for the treatment of various inflammatory-based skin diseases. Therefore, its various delivery systems have been reported.1-3) It is also an agonist of the human sweet taste receptor4), and is known to be a natural sweetener. It is dissolved in an organic solvent such as DMSO and dimethyl formamide, and also dissolved in organic solvent-free aqueous buffers relatively stably in a pH range from 7 to 9.5) (The product is for research purpose only.)
