Non-detergent Sulfobetaines

Non-detergent sulfobetains (NDSBs) have been utilized for solubilization and crystallization of proteins.1,2) In addition, NDSBs have been employed to prevent protein aggregation and to renature denatured protein.3,4) These sulfobetaine compounds are zwitterionic compounds.1,3) Compounds, 1~3, shown here are frequently-used NDSBs.
