Description
- Streptavidin, a biotin-binding protein from Streptomyces avidinii, frequently exhibits lower levels of non-specific binding than avidin. The biotin-streptavidin complex is used in a variety applications, including Western blotting, Immunohistochemistry and ELISA.
Reconstitution
- Reconstitute with distilled water or saline and centrifuge if not clear. Because the lyophilizate is true concentration may vary slightly, we recommended reconstituting it and obtaining a more accurate concentration via its extinction coefficient.
Storage
- Store at -20 °C to -80 °C prior to reconstitution. After reconstitution store at 4 °C. For extended storage after reconstitution, freeze at -20 °C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
