Application
Glycinexylidide: An Active Metabolite of Lidocaine

Glycinexylidide is an active metabolite of lidocaine [L0156] which is metabolized in the liver into two active compounds, glycinexylidide and monoethylglycinexylidide [N1171]. The major metabolic pathway, sequential N-deethylation to them, is primarily mediated by CYP1A2. Therefore, glycinexylidide has been used to assess liver function.
