Application
Licofelone: A Dual Inhibitor of Cyclooxygenase (COX) and 5-Lipoxygenase (5-LOX)
Licofelone (ML-3000) is a dual inhibitor of cyclooxygenase (COX) and 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX) metabolic pathways of arachidonic acid [A0781], and decreases the production of pro-inflammatory leukotrienes and prostaglandins.1-3) There are reports that licofelone is expected to possess clinical advantages over the selective inhibitors of COX enzyme. Licofelone is considered as a treatment for osteoarthritis. In addition, licofelone induces apoptosis in cancer cells.4,5) (The product is for research purpose only.)
