Imiquimod: A Toll-Like Receptor (TLR) 7 Agonist and a Potent Immune Activator

Imiquimod is reported as a Toll-like receptor (TLR) 7 agonist and a potent immune activator. Imiquimod activates innate immune cells to produce interferon-α (IFN-α) and other cytokines both in vitro and in vivo. This immune-based mechanism provides activity against a number of viruses. In addition, it is also used for a reagent for inflammation and immunity disorder models. (The product is for research purpose only.)
