Application
GW 9662: A Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor γ (PPARγ) Antagonist
Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPARγ) antagonist is a druggable target for the treatment of not only type 2 diabetes and obesity, but also cancer. It has been reported that the PPARγ antagonist GW9662 binds to the ligand binding site of PPARγ and results in the inhibition of adipocyte differentiation.1) GW9662 prevents the activation of PPARγ and inhibits the growth of human breast tumor cell lines.2,3) In addition, GW9662 stimulates the differentiation of M2c macrophages and induces the expression of growth arrest specific 6 (Gas6).4) (The product is for research use only.)
