Application
Bay 11-7085: An Inhibitor of NFκB and IκBα Phosphorylation
Bay 11-7085 and Bay 11-7082 [T2846] are inhibitors of nuclear factor-κB (NFκB) and phosphorylation of IκBα. They have been shown to inhibit cell proliferation and induce apoptosis of a variety of cells. NFκB is a protein complex controls transcription of DNA and inflammatory cytokine production. Researches demonstrate that inhibition of NFκB can suppress the angiogenic potential and metastasis of cancer cells. IκBα is one member of a family of cellular proteins that function to inhibit the NF-κB transcription factor. In addition, they have anti-inflammatory activity.
