Ordering FAQ

1. I want to purchase a reagent. How can I place an order?
To order a reagent, please contact your local TCI office or distributor. They can provide information about delivery, and also details of our terms and conditions.
2. Can we obtain unstable reagents, such as diazomethane?
TCI does not handle unstable reagents [such as diazomethane], which decompose before reaching the customer. However, we supply the precursors for making many such reagents. For more details, please see Reagent Precursors.
3. Is it possible to return products?
We will not accept return shipments without prior authorization and shipping instructions. The situations which give rise to returns are often complicated and require individual attention and special handling. Unidentified or unauthorized return shipments will be discarded without credit. Certain items may not be returned for credit, including, but not limited to, refrigerated or frozen products; bulk, custom synthesis or special order items; and opened containers. Be sure to contact us and we will do our best to resolve each situation in an equitable manner.

 

Charges will be imposed on catalog items returned due to your error:

Orders over $30.00 will have a 20% minimum restocking charge imposed.

Orders less than $30.00 will not be authorized for return.

 

Items which are proven defective or non-conforming to our specifications will be replaced at no charge or, at our discretion, issued credit upon receipt of returned goods.

 

All claims for replacement or credit must be made within 10 days of receipt of goods.

 

Our liability for any and all claims, losses or damages arising for any cause, including our negligence, shall in no event exceed the purchase price of the materials with respect to which the cause arose. In no event shall we be liable for incidental or consequential damages.

4. Where does my order ship from?

Orders processed at TCI America are typically shipped from either Portland, Oregon or Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania but we are also able to ship directly to you from one of our international facilities.

5. Can I ship my order collect?
TCI America can either ship on your collect account or prepay and add to your invoice. If you require an exact amount prior to our releasing the shipment, please be sure to enter a note to that effect on your order.
6. Can I place an order from anywhere in the world?
Yes, TCI has offices worldwide. TCI America processes orders/inquires for customers located in North, Central, and South America. Orders/inquiries from customers outside this area will be forwarded to the appropriate TCI office for processing.
7. What if I have a question about my order?
Please feel free to contact our Sales Department with any questions about your order via email, phone, (800-423-8616), or fax (888-520-1075). Please provide your name, account information and order number so that we can promptly address your needs.
